This past December my mom was diagnosed with non-small cell stage 4 metastatic lung cancer, It's been a stressful journey thus far. She's currently receiving chemo and radiation in hopes to shrink the plethora of tumors. Unfortunately, the cancer center is not one of the approved facilities for treatment through her insurance. This means that along with the crippling debt she is racking up we have also been paying for all of her prescriptions/scans/etc out of pocket. I say we because as soon as she got her diagnosis she moved in with me and my sister. My sister and I lost our business, so said sister moved out of state for a new job. My new job has a consistency issue, and since my mother no longer works it's been a fun game of "where can we find spare money". Both my mother and I have sold just about all our earthly treasures just to make it this far. She is in the process of being considered for disability, but at this juncture I'm not sure what else to do. I hate asking for hand outs, I'd much rather work for my money or make things to sell but spare time has become scarce as well, if it hadn't I'd just make paintings to sell. Anything and everything is appreciated. Please think, how would you feel if you woke up one day and this was your life, your responsibilities, your struggle. I never thought it would be ours.
