Gina Rodriguez

Hi ! My name is Gina Rodriguez, resisdent of Sawgrass Circle.
Please help me rehabilitate this amazing cat!

Many of you fellow residents may know or have seen Casper, an adorable & affectionate white with orange point longhair cat, who has been a regular fixture--and fellow resident--in our neighborhood.
His previous owners divirced and sold their house 8 months ago; Casper was supposedly relocating with one of them however, he appears to have gone through a tough few months and fought his way back to the only home he's has ever known--on our street on Sawgrass Circle! When he finally got "home" he was met with a new homeowner and a new cat. The new homeowners called the real estate company who sold the house in attempt to locate his owners to no avail--they have completely disappeared!

He appears to be disoriented and has injuries to his back right leg, left ear and right eye...and covered with fleas! He is defiantly in a lot of pain, dehydrated and hungry.
This is where I (we all) come in! For the past few weeks he has been spotted here or there lurking around his former home. On 8/25/13 I attempted to catch him. He recognized me--as we used to "play" before he moved--and I was able to pick him up and rescue him.

I took him to a local vet to have him scanned for a microchip and to attend to his wounds... Results:
He is not Neutered(what!!??) and not microchipped (so there is no way to find his prior owner). He is approximately 4.5 years old and negative for FIV & Feline Leukemia (thank goodness).
I had him treated for fleas and worms and he is on 3 medications for his injuries--which need to be administered 2-3x/day for the next 2 wks.
Currently, he is taking refuge in my downstairs bathroom, eating and drinking well but defiantly in pain--but in good spirits!
Today's visit was $200 and it could take $200-$300 more to get him back in shape, then find him a new home. I'm asking for any financial donation you can offer to offset this unexpected burden.
I adore Casper and would keep him myself however: it is clear he is an indoor/outdoor cat and I have 2 cats and a large dog(who he doesn't like) as well as a baby to care for. I considered keeping him as an outdoor cat, however, he will likely continue to lurk around his old home which is not ideal for the. EW homeowner and their personal cat.
I have called many local shelters and no one wants to take on an injured pet--too costly for them. Also, I have contacted the SPCA--without knowing the extent of his injuries, he will likely be put down in lieu of draining already low monetary reserves. CASPER is a REAL SWEETHEART and I can't bear that thought when I know he could make a fantastic pet with an owner who is willing to actually love him. He has a lot to offer.
Thank you for helping!!!
