BENEFITING: RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE OF NEW YORK
EVENT DATE: Nov 06, 2016
It stinks when kids are sick. It really does. If you know me, you know that my Laney Bug has juvenile arthritis and has experienced more pain, doctor's appointments, and needle pokes than should any kid. But the kid is tough. And we are lucky. Laney's medicine is working (mostly), and after we go in every month for her infusion, we drive a half hour to home and sleep snug in our own beds. Other kids we leave behind facing variety of battles at the hospital don't get to go home so soon, and their families have to make hard choices about how to support their little ones through long stays.
So I am running again! This year, it’s the TCS NYC Marathon (whoa!). And this year, there is an extra special little reason in our family that makes supporting the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) network all the closer to my heart.
I am asking for your support for Ronald McDonald House New York. It costs approximately $80 a night to keep a family close by their sick child, and RMHC helps nearly 5.7 million families stay connected to their children who are battling a life-threatening illness or injury each year. Be a part of the RMHC network of HOPE, STRENGTH and SUPPORT. No gift is too small. Your donation, of any amount, will not only help me achieve my goal, but will make a difference to those who need it the most.
I promise to run my hardest. And together we will make a difference for those kids!
