I joined iMentor in 2015 out of a strong desire to pay it forward for all the support and mentorship I was fortunate to receive throughout my own childhood and career. Every single person who helped shape me or guide me is forever imprinted in my heart and the gratitude I feel every day is what led me to wanting to help someone else in a similar capacity, if not more.
I was paired with Jaclyn, a freshman at Marble Hill School for International Studies in the Bronx, in December 2015. Since then, we've met once a month at school and are both having lots of fun getting to know one another. We're honestly really excited for what this 4 year journey through high school holds! Please consider donating to help us and all the other amazing mentor-mentee pairs across New York City. We hope to continually grow iMentor so that this organization can go on to impact more lives of young students for years to come. Thank you!
About iMentor NYC
In a world where talent is equally distributed, but opportunity is not, iMentor is fighting to rebalance the odds and give every young person a fair chance to realize their dreams. We need your support to make college a reality for all students. We match every student in our partner high schools with a college-educated mentor. We then equip every mentor with the tools and support they need to effectively guide their mentees toward college success.
We have all had individuals who have made an impact in our lives and with your help we can help iMentor continue to grow and reach more NYC students. Every dollar makes a difference. It costs iMentor $1,000 to provide one mentor-mentee pair with access to iMentor’s proven college success curriculum and resources.
Here is what your support can do for New York City’s students:
- $25 allows a mentee to attend a year of iMentor events $100 supplies a mentee with a year's access to monthly career and college preparation events
- $500 provides a college application event for an entire Junior class
- $1,000 supports the mentorship of one student as they work one-on-one with their mentor toward academic and personal success
