Seva Trip: Cass goes to India
Organized by: Cassandra Justine
EVENT DATE Feb 15, 2016
Each year, millions of women and children are trafficked in India. A child goes missing somewhere in the country every eight minutes. We, as a global community, have a unique opportunity to make a lasting and deeply meaningful impact in the community of Kolkata. This is our chance to give back to a spiritually rich community that has given us so much.
$5K RAISED IN FULL ON 10/17 ♡ THANK YOU!!!
currently raised as of 10/20: $5,097!
(above amount includes: my $500 deposit, ALL donations collected in-person, & ALL crowdrise donations!)
Now that I've reached $5K, everything else I raise will be directly donated to The Village Cooperative to help support drop-in centers in the red light district with our partners in Kolkata. I intend to raise an additional $500 or more. ❤︎
These programs provide tutoring, food, healthcare, and safety to children living in the poorest areas of Kolkata. Everything we raise will directly fund the operations and administration of these programs to benefit over 100 children in two red light areas.
All funds will be turned into The Village Cooperative – a registered 501(c)3 non-profit and sister company to The Village Experience.
Ever since I was a little girl I have dreamt of helping people across the globe. My heart overflows with love and joy when I help others. The positive impact I've made over the past 8 years through my work as a yoga teacher and a former gymnastics coach has taught me how to be a strong foundation for those in need. This love, this passion, this feeling, is drawing me to be a part of bigger work. I've been dreaming of traveling to India since 2009 when I started yoga teacher training. The universe is calling and now is the time!
Please help me spread love and peace across the globe. Be the driving force of selfless love that sends me to India with The Village Experience to support the women & children on the streets of Kolkata through the Women’s Interlink Foundation, Puresa Humanitarian Organization, and Made by Survivors at Child Care Home.
