Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles supporters within the Roman Catholic tradition began discussing ways in which they could unite the broader Catholic community to address the housing needs faced by our city’s low-income families in 2014. This self-titled “Catholic Build” has taken the initiative to raise the funds and provide the volunteer labor to build homes in Lynwood and Montebello to date. Comprised of Catholic parishes, schools, and organizations from across the LA Archdiocese, the coalition will now be headed to Culver City to sponsor and build one of ten homes with a family in need on Globe Ave. Habitat LA is again grateful and excited for such an opportunity and will be working in close partnership, providing staff support and guidance in construction and collaboration. We are also overjoyed that Archbishop Gomez is in support of the project and will be joining us upon the completion to lead a house blessing!
Please consider joining the Habitat LA Catholic Build! Help us reach our goal of $150,000 to build a home in the city of Culver City with a low-income family. If you’d like to learn more and hear how your parish can get involved, please contact Chris Untiet, Director of Faith Relations, at 424-246-3622 or email@example.com .
