Childrens Cancer and Blood Foundation Inc. wrote -
Funds raised through the 2016 TCS New York City Marathon will enable CCBF to provide critical medication, chemotherapy and other life-saving treatments to children with cancer and blood diseases treated at the Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology of New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medicine.
CCBF has helped the Division grow into one of the top centers of its kind, treating more than 500 children in over 8,000 clinic visits each year. With CCBF support, the Division sponsors the nation’s largest thalassemia clinic, most extensive hemophilia center in metropolitan New York, and the country’s largest center for research and care for Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP). Every day, due in large part to the funds raised through CCBF, many children who otherwise would not be able to afford care are treated and cured.
