Central Counties Health Centers, Inc. (CCHC), a not-for-profit health care facility, has been dedicated to providing quality, affordable primary medical, dental and behavioral health care to low income, uninsured and homeless individuals and families in Springfield and surrounding communities.
Since 1999, in good times and bad, CCHC (once known as Capital Community Health Center) has been a presence on the east side of Springfield, Illinois and has treated thousands of patients. Every year we experience a dramatic growth in patient numbers.
In addition to our main health center site, CCHC has a health care program for the homeless in which a medical team travels to the local homeless shelters to treat patients. We have learned that homeless individuals will generally only seek medical care once their condition worsens to a point that they must go to an emergency room. By taking the health care to this population, we are not only improving the health status of the individual, but also reducing the cost of healthcare for our community as a whole by focusing on primary and preventive care, rather than costly emergency care later.
CCHC is also a Veterans Choice Provider, offering our military veterans health care within their community rather than waiting for an appointment at the VA.
People in need deserve better days and need to feel proud. As a special project, CCHC would like to erect a 25 foot flagpole and display the American flag. We are trying to raise $2,500 to help defray the cost to erect and light the pole. We respectfully request any support you can provide. Donations may also be made via check payable to Central Counties Health Centers and mailed to CCHC, c/o Melinda Rodgers, 2239 E. Cook Street, Springfield, IL 62703. If you would like more information about CCHC, please feel free to contact Melinda Rodgers, firstname.lastname@example.org.
