Copper Country Habitat for Humanity (CCHFH) is joining Habitat for Humanity of Michigan's Hit a Home Run for Habitat this summer. This fundraiser is only one of the ways CCHFH plans to raise money to help wipe out poverty housing in the Copper Country. We need funds to help us build a new home for a young couple and their young child and/or a disabled veteran. We also need funds to help do critical repairs on existing privately owned homes in order to keep the current homeowners in their homes. Many of the homes in the Copper Country have fallen into disrepair. The critical repairs include repairing roofs, wiring, insulation, repairing a well water system, siding, and solving a water problem in a basement. Copper Country Habitat for Humanity helps families who fall into the Average Median Income, AGI, of 30 - 60% - the range where families can't get free assistance, yet don't have enough income to do the repairs themselves, so the home continues to fall into disarray.
