BENEFITING: Net Impact
The key to fostering a respect for employees, communities, and the environment is for consumers to use their demand influence on the market. If consumers ban together to demand transparency and sound practices, the companies must comply or close.
Additionally, I think it is important for consumers to know where their products come from and be given a chance to make daily contributions to making the world a better place.
Starting in my hometown of Tulsa, OK, I am creating a database to describe and rate businesses on their CSR. This will inform the population how their buying decisions are positively or negatively impacting the world. Businesses will be offered information on how to improve their rating and hopefully will feel the pressure from buyers to make improvements.
