The mission of CEASE is to offer support for victims of domestic violence in our community and to enable them to live violence-free lives by providing safe, temporary shelter for adults and children, 24 hr. crisis line, advocacy with community systems, and community and victim education for awareness and prevention through caring staff and concerned volunteers.
CEASE,Inc was founded in 1980 in response for the need for safe shelter for women and children who were displaced from their homes because of domestic violence. In 1999, it became a dual issue program, also responding to the need for crisis services and advocacy for victims of sexual assault. CEASE,Inc serves victims from Hamblen, Hawkins, Hancock, Grainger, Claiborne, and Union counties in East Tennessee.
