CEDAR Academy, a new, innovative nonprofit charter school serving the needs of students with autism and other developmental disabilities, plans to welcome 30 students, kindergarten through second grade, in August 2013.
CEDAR Academy received its charter from the Brevard County School Board in 2011. Our school will offer individualized instruction through the innovative ‘Unique Learning System’ curriculum. Classes will be small and specifically tailored to young children with autism and developmental disabilities. Our low student- teacher ratios will also focus on sensitive behavioral supports that will enable each student to successfully transition into the Brevard Public Schools after second grade.
CEDAR Academy was founded as the result of a partnership between Trilogy Resources and Bridges. These two well respected local organizations recognized that families were desperate for a small school that could meet the unique needs of children with autism and other developmental disabilities.
