Lulu Tao (Founder of CEED)
Lulu (17) is currently attending high school in Shanghai. She created CEED with a few of her friends in hope to help more people in need. Her philosophy is to create sustainable methods to support charitable causes.
CEED is based on the idea of helping out through MORE THAN A DONATION by using Microfinancing， crowdfunding, and charity to connect donors with receivers directly and by using Crowdfunding to boost participation.
Microfinancing is designed to help the less privileged help themselves. Microfinancing provides people that are otherwise incapable of getting loans with a low interest and small amount loan. This type of loan is low risk and is proven to be an effective way of fighting global poverty.
CEED mainly hosts short student trips to poor villages around China to provide assistance to the farmers. Students will not only be able to experience living on in a village but develop critical thinking skills by helping the farmers create and draft simple business plans and then investing in these plans. The idea behind this is to help the farmers develop the way they think and to eventually improve their lifestyle.
