In 2010 I spent a few weeks in South Africa that changed my perspective in many ways! And I can assure you that by supporting GLOBAL CAMPS AFRICA, that YOU can change the perspective and offer HOPE to many kids living in South Africa, who are surrounded by poverty, abuse, and AIDS.
Global Camps Africa is celebrating it's TENTH anniversary this year, having sent thousands of children to camps and transforming their lives. We've also increased the reach of our programs exponentially through funding from USAID and we can do even more with your support!
On top of having the time of their lives, kids who get to go to Camp Sizanani in South Africa are taught good hygiene practices, basic nutrition, and ways to keep themselves healthy and HIV-free. They do it all through games, activities, and interactive lessons - they're never preached at or put on the spot. And they walk away from the experience with a new way of looking at their lives -- not as hopeless victims, but as the leaders of the change they want for themselves and their friends.
So to help give a few kids that opportunity this year and to honor all that we've achieved in the last 10 years, I'm asking for help raising $1,000. That's all it takes! If you have a few dollars you could possibly spare, please click on DONATE and let's change a kid's life together!
There will be more opportunities to celebrate and support our efforts all year with the anniversary events in Virginia and New York, as well as joining me for the NY AIDS Walk on May 18. More details to come!
