BENEFITING: Gift of Life Family House
Dear Friends and Family,
I am about to reach my big 7-0 birthday and I want to do it in style! My dear spouse offered to take me on a trip anywhere in the world I want to go....but I have already been everywhere I want to go. However, since he is feeling so generous, I decided to take advantage of his generosity to raise funds for one of my favorite nonprofit organizations -- The Gift of Life Family House in Philadelphia. This facility provides incredibly affordable lodging and support to families who come from a distance to be with a relative who is having a life-saving organ transplant. I have toured the facility several times and am always impressed. I know people who are alive today because of receiving a transplant and I applaud all of the individuals who have helped make that happen -- from the donor and his/her family, to the medical staffs involved, to Family House which supplies comfortable housing and lots of support to relatives during a most anxious time in their lives.
With that in mind, I invite you to help me celebrate my 70th birthday by doing the following:
1. Make a donation to the Gift of Life Family House. You can do that online at this website, or by sending me a check made payable to Gift of Life Family House. Michael and I will match your donation, no matter what the amount! <3
2. Join us for a tour of Family House on Wednesday October 15 at 3 PM.
You can meet us at Family House at 401 Callowhill Street where free off-street parking is available, or meet in the lobby of the 2101 Co-op at 2:30 pm to catch a ride with us. Please let me know if you will be joining us so that I can inform Family House how many will be on the tour.
3. In addition to your financial donation, if you have any unopened toiletries from hotel stays, feel free to donate those. Many Family House guests arrive on short notice, without all the necessary provisions to take care of their personal needs, and donations of these items are welcome and well-used. In addition, toothbrushes and toothpaste are also appreciated. I have been taking a supply of these items over to Family House annually for the the past several years, so you are welcome to add to my annual collection if you are unable to join us on the tour.
That's it! If you would like more information about organ transplants, feel free to contact me. If you would like more information regarding Gift of Life Family House, please go to www.giftoflifefamilyhouse.org.
MANY THANKS FOR HELPING TO CELEBRATE MY 70TH BIRTHDAY!
Love and PEACE!
