We know a lot of you can't be at the Celebrity Softball Jam in person - so if you could consider helping us in one of the following 3 ways, we'd greatly appreciate it!
1. Donate any amount you wish. Even a $1.00 will help us accomplish making a difference. A $10 donation will get your name into a drawing that we'll announce on Facebook and through email on May 6, 2011 for 10 people to receive an autographed copy of our CD- Somewhere In Time.
2. Hit the “Facebook” icon in the upper top right hand corner of our Crowdrise page and help us get the word out that you like this cause
3. Forward this page to whoever you think will listen. Together we can help kids get the equipment they need and deserve to get involved in sports
We don't like to read a lot of words and we're sure you don't either- but if you want more information, here’s what we can tell you:
In two years, Reckless Kelly has raised more than $65,000 for five area youth baseball groups, the Miracle Leagues at Town & Country and San Antonio, South Austin Little League, Balcones Little League and Montopolis Little League. That's astounding and all because we worked together as a team!
Each year, our Celebrity Softball Jam brings together thousands of folks - not just for a great time playing ball and jamming out at our show after the game - but more importantly, to raise money to help the children of our future be able to enjoy the same fun and activities we all had growing up.
When people come together, that's when change happens. We have seen it first hand and it feels good seeing the fruits of all of our labor.
If you can attend...check us out at www.rkcsj.com for more information and we'll see you at Dell Diamond! Ticket prices are your donation and are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
So who else is involved and where does this money go?
Last year, at the Montopolis Little League field in East Austin, Reckless Kelly band members, Willy and Cody Braun and Jay Nazz joined league coach Israel Lopez and a dozen “Lowe’s Heroes,” employees from stores in Leander and Round Rock, to build and paint an outfield fence to keep car lights off the playing field during games.
At the Balcones Youth Sports field in Central Austin, they joined league president Brad Hughes and 25 other “Lowe’s Heroes,” employees from Lowe’s of Northeast Austin and Lowe’s of Hutto, to repair and paint bleachers, picnic tables and bathroom walls and floors. They also built new bullpens adjacent to both senior field dugouts.
