Central African Republic

The people of the Central African Republic (CAR) face an extreme water crisis, but the lack of basic infrastructure and political instability in the country present obstacles providing clean water. Over the last two years, violence has forced around 25% of the population to leave their homes. A majority of the internally displaced people are women and children with little or no access to clean water and sanitation. These conditions contribute to the low average life expectancy (only 51.81 years) and high infant mortality rate (over than 20%).
