If you've landed here, then you know that I am running the New York Marathon (again) which takes place on November 5th, 2017 and I've decided to run and fundraise for the Central Park Conservatory!
As many of you know, I've embarked on a new adventure -- a much-needed Sabbatical! I'm taking a break from work to enjoy my young children (7 & 11), other family and friends, and life overall after 26+ years of climbing the corporate ladder and extensive work travel around the world keeping me away from home.
This summer we relocated from Geneva, Switzerland to NYC and now that I've been living in Manhattan for the past month and have been training for the marathon, I can't tell you how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE Central Park! It is simply a piece of heaven dropped in the middle of the City. In addition to the rich greenery, it boasts gorgeous ponds and a reservoir that in my opinion rivals Lake Geneva with its own mini Jet d'Eau fountain with the mid-town skyline in the background. It's full of life with playgrounds, music, visitors from around the world, and a community of walkers, bikers, and hundreds of runners every given day of the week, sunrise to sunset on a wide uninterrupted street path free of cars.
I ran the marathon in 2013 and I'm doing it again! As I count down to the marathon, I ask you to join me in my cause to raise $3000 for the Central Park Conservatory. Any amount -- big or small is appreciated. To get in the spirit of the 26.2 miles donate $26.2, $262, or even $2620 if you're feeling especially generous! ;-) Again, any amount is so appreciated and will go a long way to keep the park thriving.
Also note that I'm running with two other wonderful ladies - Kelli Joy Richardson Lawson (2nd marathon), and Teneshia Jackson Warner (1st timer). Our group is called Joy Work, and we hope to run the whole race with a smile. We're all running in support of the Central Park Conservatory.
Thanks in advance for your encouragement and support!
