CetraRuddy has partnered with PENCIL and Community School 300 in the Bronx since 2011. Each year CetraRuddy volunteers deliver a project-based learning initiative that addresses several of the principal's priorities, including exposure to career pathways, enhancing the math curriculum, and developing student leadership skills. Over the course of the year, we work with third graders to teach them about bridges and architecture. From learning the vocabulary associated with bridges, to understanding the role of various structural parts, the students are tasked with building their very own bridges! Students then present their bridges at CetraRuddy's office in front of a team of architects and engineers. This summer, PENCIL is celebrating its 20th Anniversary and calling on its partners to support its work with hundreds of schools, students, and businesses around New York City. Please join the CetraRuddy team by donating $20 (or more) to support this amazing work and make the dreams of public school students a reality.
