As one job seeker so eloquently put it, “Everything begins and ends with a job. When you have a job, you can pay your rent, put food on the table, and provide for your family.”
Unemployment can be an anguishing event that decimates not only a person’s material resources, but also his self-esteem. His frustration at feeling like he is dropping copies of his resume into an abyss every day is often compounded by the stress of where he will get his next meal, how he will keep his lights on, or even where he will live tomorrow.
Christian HELP is dedicated to preventing homelessness by helping the unemployed and underemployed find employment while materially and spiritually providing for them. Though the unemployment rate has dropped, the level of underemployment has increased. Many people are working either part-time jobs or lower wage jobs, or a combination of both.
For 21 years, Christian HELP and the Central Florida Employment Council have focused on helping people to find jobs by equipping them with the tools they need for an effective job search through:
- Employment Coaching and counseling
- Job Fairs
- An online Job Board http://cfec.org
- Job Skills Classes
- Boot Camp
- Employment Seminars
The new Central Florida Jobs Initiative http://cfji.org will bring a series of 6 classes focused on helping job seekers to become excellent employees. From learning how to create a job search plan to performance excellence, job seekers will be prepared not only to find a job, but to keep it. Employer and Community partners are key to the success of this program.
Additionally, Christian HELP is exploring new business ideas to not only help people find jobs but create them as well.
Your donation will:
