BENEFITING: MYTEAM TRIUMPH INC
EVENT DATE: Aug 17, 2013
Child and Family Services of Southwest Michigan is partnering with myTEAM TRIUMPH to provide the ride of a lifetime for local residents with disabilities in the 5K for 5 Ways to Care run/walk in Stevensville on Saturday, August 17th.
Donations will be split evenly between the two organizaitons to help advance their respective missions.
Child and Family Services' mission is to walk beside children, families and adults of all ages, and to support them in maintaining safe, healthy, meaningful lives within the community.
myTEAM TRIUMPH is an athletic ride-along program for children, teens, adults and veterans who are disabled and would not otherwise be able to participate in outdoor endurance events. Inspired by Dick and Rick Hoyt, mTT takes quadriplegics and paraplegics (the team "Captain") through triathlons and road races such as the 5K for 5 Ways to Care run/walk.
The equipment to carry out this mission is very expensive. A single jogging chair for an adult can cost well over one thousand dollars. For more information please enjoy the video on the web site www.myteamtriumph.org
