BENEFITING: Community For Youth
EVENT DATE: Sep 21, 2015
It's time for our students to go back to school and for Community for Youth (CfY) programs to move into full gear and we need your help! CfY matches a student and a volunteer adult mentor and they work together one-on-one while receiving the support of a powerful, family like community. CfY transforms high school students who are struggling—with school, family, and their direction in life—into young adults who have confidence, determination and self-awareness. We have a unique pairing model: students and mentors choose one another after spending a weekend together camping as a group.
Once a week for the rest of the school year, mentors and students will work together one-on-one while also being a part of a larger "family group" comprised of other student and mentor pairs. This model has been sucessfully proven. For the past two-years, 100% of CfY seniors graduated from high school!
This week, during back to school, we need your help to support our program. I am asking for you to consider sponsoring a student at one of these suggested levels:
Buy a student a Community for Youth Sweatshirt (each student receives one): $25.00
Contribute to the general Student Emergency Fund which provides students with money towards school supplies, medical costs and student activity costs: $50.00
Provide Dinner at one of our monthly workshops (for some students, this is their only meal of the day): $100.00
Cover the cost of food, facility rental, staff, and materials for a workshop (each student attends 8 during the school year): $250.00
Send a student to one of our two yearly camping retreats: $500.00
Sponsor a Family Group (each family group is comprised of 6-8 student/mentor pairs): $1,000.00
Sponsor a students program costs for the entire school year: $2,500.00
Thank you again for your support. I cannot wait to share with you the success stories that our students will achieve in 2015-2016!
