Chair For a Friend
Organized by: Fast Lane Drifter
My good friend is disabled and REALLY needs a new wheelchair. I can't afford to buy him one so I decided to CrowdRise a new chair for him. He has no idea I am doing this, nor will he. He is a great guy with a huge heart. He is always quick to help others every chance he gets. The first time I met him, he quickly approached me, introduced himself, and made me feel welcome at the new organization I had just walked in to. I learned that he's just that type of guy, an Ambassador of good will.
Currently, he has an old, manual wheelchair that keeps falling apart and he keeps having it welded back together. The current manual chair severely limits where he goes and what he does. An electric chair would completely open up a new world for him. I asked him if there was a possibility of getting one through Medicaid. His response, "I HAVE A JOB!" That type of attitude makes trying to help him get what he needs that much better. He's not interested in asking anyone for anything. He doesn't make a huge amount of money so buying this himself isn't an option. The EZ Lite Cruiser weighs less than 50lbs WITH the battery and folds up to the size of a suitcase. His wife would be able to get it in and out of their car, thus enabling them to enjoy life to a greater level. The life that many of us who don't need a chair take for granted on a daily basis. The EZ Lite can be purchased for $2,375. Once that amount has been reached, this page will be taken down. I will be paying the costs associated with CrowdRise and any marketing costs involved to get this out. Any amount you are able to donate will be greatly appreciated. Please share this on your social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, etc, etc). The more this gets out, the faster it gets done.
