After having done 25 marathons and 5 ultra-marathons I thought time is there to set a new goal for me in 2013. I have never done a triathlon before and until last winter I was an absolute non-swimmer (maximum lifetime swim length 50m). My last road bike experience was in the early 90th's.
It was quite a challenge to start with but I think I am on a good path. My big goal for 2013 is to finish a long distance triathlon. The Ironman distance consists of a 3.8 km swim, followed by 180 km bike race and a marathon (42.2k) to run). I have signed in for one of the most famous races in the world, the Roth Challenge.
I am fundraising now as part of great team of triathlets who are all "organised" in the MaccaX Community and all race in Roth this year. We fundraise for the MaccaNow Foundation
Two-time Ironman world Champion Chris McCormack (“Macca”) set up the MaccaNow Foundation to commemorate his mother who passed away from breast cancer in 1999. In 2013, Macca’s goal is to raise $50,000 with the help of the MaccaX Community, to provide assistance to families affected by breast cancer in order to lessen the financial burdens and improve their quality of life. Help support Macca’s goal, support your fellow MaccaX Community members by donating today, spreading the word about the MaccaNow Foundation and our $50,000 goal.
