South Bay Children's Health Center (SBCHC) has empowered families in need of healthcare for their children since 1947. 70 years later, helping young people grow healthy and strong is our top priority. Here in the South Bay, dental care and mental health services for at-risk, low-income and underserved youth is high on the list of health needs for hard-working families trying to make ends meet.
The Fifth Annual Champions For Children 5K Trail Run/Walk, which will be held on June 23, 2018 will help raise critical funding to ensure that 25,000 children, teens and young adults in need of quality dental and mental health care receive the services they need. Champions For Children is an opportunity to make a difference while having fun! Every event registration, sponsorship and every dollar donated makes a difference. Here is what your donations can do this year:
$25 can provide a parenting book for a parent in need of support.
$50 can provide dental kits for twenty children.
$100 can help pay for a full oral health exam including treatment planning, nutritional counseling, x-rays and an oral health assessment.
$250.00 can provide oral health and mental health education for parents, caregivers, teachers and school administrators.
$500 can help support mental health and wellness counseling and support groups through our South Bay Youth Project in the local community.
