BENEFITING: Champs of Charity Inc
WE’RE GOING BACK TO HONDURAS IN AUGUST 2016!
Calling all Champions! We need your support. Help us bring a little happiness to kids in Central America. Champs of Charity are traveling to Honduras once again to make donations of soccer uniforms and equipment in disadvantaged areas of the capital city of Tegucigalpa. Just as in 2015, we will be visiting youth soccer leagues, schools, and centers aimed at keeping kids off the streets. We don’t claim to solve the world’s problems, just to put smiles on the faces of kids in need –one soccer uniform at a time. You would be amazed how something so simple and so small can have such a positive impact on kids. Soccer is universal and it need not be explained to any kid no matter where they are from. They know what the ball is for. They love to play.
Most children in the world today live in developing nations under difficult circumstances, where they are more susceptible to alcohol and substance abuse, gang participation, absenteeism from school, and early pregnancy. Keeping kids involved in sports such as soccer helps guide them away from these difficulties by promoting teamwork, respect, leadership, adherence to rules, and good old-fashioned hard work.
You can be a Champion of Charity by spreading the word about our fundraiser through Facebook and Twitter, making a donation, or even coming with us to Honduras. A donation of $225 buys uniforms for an entire team. A $25 donation buys a practically indestructible One World Futbol (http://www.oneworldplayproject.com) that never needs a pump and never goes flat. No donation is too small. You can also rest assured that all funds raised through this campaign go directly to purchase soccer uniforms and equipment that will be donated to young soccer players in Honduras.
