Last year we created a custom pediatric power-chair for a young girl who lives with limb differences. This type of product is not available in the United States and these kids cannot use a regular power chair. It was such a success that 3 more kids with similar challenges have requested the same solution. Your donation will allow us to purchase the materials so that we can make 3 more custom pediatric power chairs for them as well.
We have split the fundraisers up so that each family can hit their goal easier.
This fundraiser is to allow Chance Elzey Hirschi (pictured with his mom) to get his own custom power chair.
Here is Chance's story:
"We adopted a boy 19 months ago with no limbs and the device you made for Jovia would work really well for him. His only means for transportation is rolling around on the floor or moving around like an inchworm. He is always on the floor. It would be amazing if he could climb into a chair like Jovia's that would allow him to go outside and go for a walk, to sit up instead of laying on the ground all the time. It would be a significant move towards independence. Chance is missing his arms and legs. He does not have legs at all but does have partial feet. He also has partial stumps as arms. His torso is very strong and he is good at figuring things out on his own without someone showing him."
All funds will go directly towards materials to create this chair. We are able to make it so cheap (typical cost of powerchair is $25k - $60k) because the manufacturing and assembly is donated by our professional volunteers.
Thanks for donating for Chance!
