Since we have had an amazing Donor of the Van, we are still proceeding with the raffle ticket sales and raffle drawing. We will use the funds for other medical equipment needs for Chandler. One in specific is a hoist lift system that will allow him to get himself in and out of bed! With the grace of God and the kindness and generosity of Aaron Zeigler he will now have a reliable van for many, many years to come! We are offering a lot of fantastic prizes for the raffle and your odds are fairly good, as we have only printed 3000 tickets. So far, only 482 tickets have sold. Please share our page and help us raise enough to cover a lift system and other medical equipment that will improve Chandlers quality of life. Thank you from the bottoms of our hearts to all of you that have prayed for Chandler and donated to him for this fundraiser and in the past. I can assure you, he will pay it forward.
Chandler McBride’s accident was two years ago, he had suffered a severed spinal cord in a pool diving accident. After being told he would never breathe or eat on his own, he has since completed High School and his first year at Grand Valley State University. It has been two years since his accident and he certainly is an inspiration to everyone he meets.
Chandler is in need of a reliable van to transport him to and from doctors’ appointments, physical therapy sessions, as well as to and from college. His current van may not make it another month let alone another year.
As you can imagine being in a 600 pound wheelchair has its limitation when traveling. The van the family was able to get for him has 230,000 miles on it and has a long list of problems. The biggest problem is the mileage and is not reliable. If it was to breakdown, he would be stranded and could not hop in any vehicle, this could be very dangerous.
Chandler’s mother also has MS, and he has a 11 year old sister. The family is very strong and their strength comes from an amazing bond and the following words to help them through these past two years: Joshua 1:9 - Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
