Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I will be walking in the 2016 BOSTON POTS 5k in honor of my favorite little lady, Kaylie Hickey of Medford MA. Last year Kaylie was suffering from fatique, dizziness, rapid heartrate, and constant dehydration. After multiple trips to the emergency room and countless visits with a number of doctors, Kaylie was diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, also known as POTS. POTS takes a giant toll on your day to day life, it can make tasks that we think to be so simple, such as waking up and going to school in the morning, a hundred times harder for someone who suffers from this condition. For the past year I have watched Kaylie deal with things no ordinary 12 year old should have to go through, such as deciding whether or not she has enough energy to walk up a few flights of stairs or deciding whether she has enough energy to go to the park for an hour with her friends. After seeing this first hand, I, along with Kaylies family have decided to take part in the 2016 Boston POTS walk, i hope that after reading only a summary about Kaylies fight you are inclined to donate to our team "Kaylies Krew" so that we can walk together in order to find a cure for such a debilitating illness. All proceeds go directly to Dysautonomia International to create awareness, and support the advancement towards a cure for POTS. Thank you for your support, we hope to have you walking beside us on May 7th.
