BENEFITING: THOMAS G LABRECQUE FOUNDATION
EVENT: 2014 11th Annual Run As One
EVENT DATE: Apr 27, 2014
Dear Friends and Family,
This will be my first ever New York City race! On Sunday April 27th(coincidentally also my mom's Birthday) I will be running a short 4-mile race in Central Park. This race raises funding and awareness in the fight against lung cancer and honors former Chase Manhattan Bank chairman Tom Labrecque, a lifelong never-smoker who died from lung cancer at age 62.
I was never a big runner, but through my training have completely fallen in love with the activity (especially now that the weather is warming up, I adore running along the Hudson River and in Central Park). I am working towards my first half marathon in the Hamptons in September and the infamous NYC Marathon in November (still debating if my body can handle 26 miles)!
Every day I am grateful that my mother overcame a brief battle with breast cancer. I am running this race in honor of my late nonno (grandfather) Marin Muzina who thankfully did not pass of lung cancer but had early signs of it. I am also racing in the hopes that someone else's mother too can beat this terrible disease.
I would be so incredibly grateful for ANY amount donated towards my race. I'm really looking forward to the day and can't wait to race in the park!
