In 2011, I can actually say that I was a runner. I ran the Staten Island half marathon, the Los Angeles Marathon, the Altanta half marathon, and lastly the Chicago Marathon. I was runing all the time, every day. It was an amazing experience to see my transformation from a 'part time' exerciser to a full fledge runner. I wasn't running the best times, but I was completing each and everyone of them. During the Chicago Marathon training, I injured myself and it was a huge setback, but I was determined to compete and finish. During the race, I had to stop at the medic tent, but I still completed it in under 6 hours.
For the Chicago marathon, I raised money for Cancer Research. Now I am finally ready for the NYC Marathon. This will be my crown jewel so that I can brag that I have run across the country :-) But as a new father, I wanted to make sure that this run would have an impact for my daughter. So I have partnered with Team Change for Kids, which rasises money for the NYC School System. I don't know if Devin will go to a NYC Public School, but we need to all make sure that this next generation has the best education possible. They will determine if we still get Social Security when we get older.
So I need your help. Please help me raise $3500 for this great cause. Team Change For Kids paves the way for over 4,000 under-privileged NYC children to receive a broad range of essential educations programs at their school.
100% of funds raised in this year's TCS New York City Marathon will support vital educational resources at CFK's ten partner schools that set students on the path to a bright future.
