Change our lives NOW, so we change others later!

THE STORY:

I'm the oldest of 3 girls; Shelby is 11, Gina is 20, and I'm 23. My name is Sharron, and if you are reading this, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I promise to not waste your time.

On the surface, we seem like fairly typical American girls. Of course, looks are typically quite deceiving. Gina and I have the same father. A drug addicted, narcissistic man who may have the best intentions at heart, yet has grossly underserved us in our lives. Shelby's father was an abusive and mentally unstable man who commited suicide in October 2013. Our mother, being the main victim of abuse in both marriages, never was able to rise above the set backs this turmoil caused her.

You don't choose your parents. You don't choose your upbringing. Despite these randomly dealt cards, I truly believe that I can change the course of our lives. I personally enabled my parents for years, put my life on hold, tried to be a saviour of sorts in the hopes my big heart could save my family. Between holding my dad's hand through heroin withdrawals, to taking my mom from homeless shelter to homeless shelter, to working three jobs to help my sisters - I finally started MY life as of last year. I had put my dreams on hold for too long. I was convinced that the long line of misery and mediocrity passed down from generation to generation left me doomed.

My heart has been telling me otherwise. I've been pursuing my dream of working in theater slowly for the last year. After a failed attempt at college in 2010, due to absolutely no guidance from my parents, I figured I'd just work a ton and help my parents. Guess what? Our happiness is no ones responsibility but our OWN. I'm currently in a highly sought after conservatory program in Chicago, paying every penny I have to make this work and follow my heart.

Gina's story is similar, she also couldn't stay in school. Shelby is still young and after everything she has been through, she deserves a bright future without limitation. I want to put money aside for her education. I want to pay off Gina's debt and my own so we can get the opportunity to become financially stable and live our lives without the oppressive shackles that monetary issues have brought us.

Here is the benefit to helping us; our hearts are big. Our generosity is boundless. Yes, we would like to follow our dreams, but part of that dream is to INSPIRE AND ASSIST.

I want the opportunity to repair my life now so I can help others do the same. I've always believed that one of the most important things in life is to help your fellow man. I do this now. I desperately want to do more. It's a shame that monetary issues are so limiting in this respect. I believe in PAYING IT FORWARD. If this goal is reached, I plan on creating a social page to display random acts of kindness and create a community of people who create a momentum of kindness and generosity! Also, more than anything, I would love to use the ARTS to drive this message and spread it throughout the world.

Ambitious? Yes. Worth it? YES.

Help us now, so we can pay it forward later!

Warmest regards,

Sharron
