Quiom Maipalig Elem. School, the name alone brings vision of a faraway place, waiting to be explored and the farthest barrio school in Batac City, Ilocos Norte Philippines. It is located at the southeastern part and it is 18 kilometers away from the poblacion. There are about 137 pupils enrolled and they have to walk 7 to 10 kms and some have to cross rivers and mountains to reach school. The school serves 2 barrios quiom and maipalig. The barrio folks are mainly engaged in farming while some are OFWs. The school has 4 large buildings and a large playground. The population of the school is consists of 16 kinder, 16 grade 1, 24 grade 2, 11 grade 3, 36 grade 4, 19 grade 5 and 15 grade 6. Our hope is to better their life at school and to bring smile to their faces because nothing can be more beautiful than that. We hope to inspire them to continue studying and dreaming. Please help us raise for them. All proceeds will help us build a library, buy backpacks, school supplies, and a LCD monitor for the kids. God bless you and thank you.
