World Cancer Day was a couple of weeks ago, but that doesn’t mean that the focus on “saving millions of preventable deaths each year by raising awareness and education about the disease, pressing governments and individuals across the world to take action” is any less relevant this week. Arguably, it’s more important now that the spotlight has been turned off.
Crowdfunding for the cure
So that’s why online fundraisers like this one from the American Cancer Society are so critical. This campaign allows people to give directly to the ACS’ post-doctoral grant program which will continue to drive innovative research that will lead to a cure. It kicked off earlier this month, but they’ve already raised $6,700, but we need your help to get to their $200,000 goal.
Let’s F Cancer

Standing up to cancer through online fundraising
Cancer kills 1,500 Americans every day. That’s one person every minute. That’s pretty heavy stuff. To change these statistics, Team Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) utilizes CrowdRise to rally their supporters to raise funds for research by participating in their favorite races. Whether it’s a 5K, a community walk or running a marathon for Team SU2C, advocates can help the best and the brightest in the research community accelerate research that can get new therapies to patients quickly and saves lives. Find out how you can get involved today.
Kicking cancer’s ass
British Columbia-based pizzeria owner Tim Goldie is a husband and the father of 2 beautiful daughters. Unfortunately, Tim was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Glioblastoma (brain cancer). The funds raised from the online fundraiser that was set up by his community will assist Tim and his family in his treatment, travel and recovery. They are currently at 82% of their $75,000 goal, and with your help we can get them what they need.
