Ainsley's Angels of America is super excited to be spreading awareness through activism and education and honored to celebrate Cierra!
Enjoy this #StoryBehindTheBib from Master Sergeant Lawrence, USMC:
On January 18th, 2015, I had the honor and privilege of meeting an amazing young lady named Cierra Theriot when I signed up to lend my legs to her at the Louisiana Marathon! For 26.2 miles, I was serenaded and encouraged by Cierra's sweet, angelic voice! Cierra is a 17 year old high school student who happens to be blind because of ROP (Retinopathy of Prematurity). She had a twin sister, Courtney, who passed away 2 years ago from complications due to Cerebral Palsy. This does not affect Cierra’s attitude and outlook at all. She always has the biggest smile and most positive words for everyone she comes in contact with! Cierra joined Ainsley's Angels in October 2013 and has completed 44 race events, including triathlons. As she rolls along the race course, her words of encouragement and joyful singing can be heard the entire way! When she isn't spending her weekends racing, she is in high demand for local events to sing including the National Anthem! Everyone who meets Cierra is instantly drawn to her bubbly, positive personality and I want to do something special for her because she is a special girl! Recently we completed the Marine Corps Marathon together. Again, she affected so many people by her singing and beautiful personality. What a fantastic event! It was at that point I realized she needed her own chair...because 44 races in 3 years is dedication! I would love to give back to Cierra what she has given so many people; love and appreciation. So please consider a tax deductible donation, so that Ainsley's Angels can grant a chair to customized race chair to Cierra and so we all can show Cierra just a small token of what she has given so many of us!!!
YES, YOU CAN...donate to ensure this becomes a reality!
