Ainsley's Angels of America is super excited to be spreading awareness through activism, education, and through our Racing Chair Grant program.
Enjoy this #StoryBehindTheBib from Brendan about why he and Jacob are seeking your generosity:
Over the last two years Jacob and I have become best friends. Since he stays with me most weekends we started running together in local charity 5k races. I wasn’t a particularly strong runner but Jacob appeared to enjoy running together, rocking in the chair and waving his arms with the wind. He never expressed a desire to run faster or win races but whenever he received a finisher’s medal he was reluctant to let go, holding onto them for the entirety of the drive home. It was a race in Attleboro this past August when he got a trophy that prompted our dedication to running. His reaction was one I had yet to see.
My athletic focus shifted and we began running every weekend together. As a result of this experience, we’ve met some incredible people and it has been an honor to be a part of Team Hoyt New England. Jacob and I will be running our first marathon this coming May. Having the Blade II racing chair will make the longer races more comfortable and the bike attachment will allow us to participate in triathlons together in the future.
Any tax-deductible donation will go a long way in helping us meet our fundraising goal and allow us to continue to spread the Hoyt mission of raising awareness for inclusion within sport.
