Welcome to the Chariot for Ari fundraising page, hosted by myTEAM Triumph: Ainsley’s Angels of Southwest Louisiana, on behalf of Team Ari!
Team Ari is a mother/daughter duo who compete in endurance races to encourage athletes of all abilities to participate in any sports. Ari is a 12 year old girl with Cerebral Palsy and Visual Impairment. Kelli is a Boston qualified marathoner and ultramarathoner who has finished many accomplished races. Kelli took up running in 2006 due to Ari's disabilities and her desire to no longer take for granted her ability to walk and run.
This year, upon entering Middle School, Ari voiced her desire to compete in sports just like her older brother and sister, who have been very athletic all their lives. After hearing Ari's, wishes, Kelli and Michael decided that they needed to act on Ari's dream and make it happen for their daughter. So on September 1,2012 Team Ari was born. Kelli pushed Arianna in her first 5k race in her wheelchair. With the support and love of her family Ari has completed several more 10k's, a half-marathon, and a 20 mile race successfully. Ari is now using an adaptive racing wheelchair that enables Kelli to push her with more ease. It is Team Ari's goal to complete their first marathon in March 2013.
Team Ari's motto is Yes we can Cross any Finish line!! With your help we are hoping to have the highest quality and safest custom TEAM HOYT Racing chair built for Ari in the near future to race with. When Kelli asked Ari how she felt about her fundraising page she shared, "I feel really lucky that I will get my own chair to race in!"
Wishing you Miles of Smiles ~Team Ari

What is myTEAM TRIUMPH - Ainsley's Angels of Southwest Louisiana? myTEAM TRIUMPH is an athletic ride-along program created for children, teens, adults and veterans with disabilities who would normally not be able to experience endurance events such as triathlons or road races. Everyone's support is much appreciated, as we aim to run many miles and create many SMILES !
Who is Ainsley?
Ainsley does not talk or walk; she does not play for fun; but shesmiles, while out for a run. An inspiration to thousands, she is an amazing little girl with a smile that will light up any room. Shortly after being diagnosed with an extremely rare progressive genetic nerve disorder called Infantile Neuroaxonal Dystrophy (INAD), Ainsley completed the Surfer's Healing Virginia Beach 5K road race. Her first of many running-aided, wind-induced smiles took our family's collective breath away as she received her finisher's medal and became an official Team Hoyt Virginia Beach (THVB) ATHLETE! Inspired by Dick and Rick Hoyt, and the only running team authorized by the Hoyt's to use their name, THVB provided Ainsley's family with a therapeutic means to fight the devastation associated with learning and trying to live with the fact that your child has a terminal illness. The positive energy surrounding the start line, the children smiling from ear to ear, the togetherness of every member preparing to "roll with the wind", the fearlessness of the athletes, the normalcy of the family, and the love we all have for each other is a therapy like no other. In an effort to spread this amazing experience to as many people as possible, Ainsley's Angels aims to see other families experience what the Hoyt's have experienced over 1000 times and what we have experienced over 35 times (so far). As such, we created two chapters of myTEAM Triumph to ensure others can "roll with the wind" and live up to the philosophy of, "Yes You Can."
