Welcome to the Chariot for Sean fundraising page, hosted by myTEAM Triumph: Ainsley’s Angels of Southwest Louisiana, on behalf of the Bates Family.
With your generosity, Sean’s parents and his older siblings, Erin and Taylor, aim to raise enough money to purchase a chariot, also known as the Freedom Push Chair by Advanced Mobility, for Sean! This chariot will allow Sean to compete in local road races, while being pushed by his older siblings. Trust me, as the father of a very special girl named Ainsley, that the that the positive energy surrounding the start line, the children smiling from ear to ear, the togetherness of every member preparing to "roll with the wind", the fearlessness of the athletes, the normalcy of the family, and the love we all have for each other is a therapy like no other.
Who is Sean?
Sean is has Severe Athetoid Cerebral Palsy which affects his ability to use his muscles as most people do. This has left him with the inability to sit, crawl, stand, walk, use his arms, hands, head control, talk or eat by mouth. However, SEAN IS EAGER to overcome! Ever since he was born, Sean has been EAGER; so EAGER, that he could not wait to see his family so he came 7 weeks early. As his Dad has written for Sean, "I was doing great, then I stopped breathing. My mom and dad brought me back to life, long story short, I had to have 2 stomach surgeries, trach, breathing treatment, breathing and heart monitors, oxygen at night. Oh and by the way I lost my ability to sit, crawl, walk, eat by mouth, speak, use my arms/ hands, legs and feet. However, through it all I remain EAGER to work hard at everything I can!
YES YOU CAN, donate 10 dollars right now to ensure Sean can Roll with the wind in his face as he experiences the trill of crossing a road race finish line with his siblings, Erin and Taylor!

What is myTEAM TRIUMPH - Ainsley's Angels of Southwest Louisiana?
We are an athletic ride-along program created for children, teens, adults and veterans with disabilities who would normally not be able to experience endurance events such as triathlons or road races. Everyone's support is much appreciated, as we aim to run many miles and create many SMILES!
Who is Ainsley?
Ainsley does not talk or walk; she does not play for fun; but she smiles, while out for a run. An inspiration to thousands, she is an amazing little girl with a smile that will light up any room. Shortly after being diagnosed with an extremely rare progressive genetic nerve disorder called Infantile Neuroaxonal Dystrophy (INAD), Ainsley completed the Surfer's Healing Virginia Beach 5K road race. Her first of many running-aided, wind-induced smiles took our family's collective breath away as she received her finisher's medal and became an official Team Hoyt Virginia Beach (THVB) ATHLETE! Inspired by Dick and Rick Hoyt, and the only running team authorized by the Hoyt's to use their name, THVB provided Ainsley's family with a therapeutic means to fight the devastation associated with learning and trying to live with the fact that your child has a terminal illness. The positive energy surrounding the start line, the children smiling from ear to ear, the togetherness of every member preparing to "roll with the wind", the fearlessness of the athletes, the normalcy of the family, and the love we all have for each other is a therapy like no other. In an effort to spread this amazing experience to as many people as possible, Ainsley's Angels aims to see other families experience what the Hoyt's have experienced over 1000 times and what we have experienced over 30 times (so far). As such, we created this chapter of myTEAM Triumph to ensure others can "roll with the wind" and live up to the philosophy of, "Yes You Can."
