Shortly after Christmas this past year, my mother, Maryann Bisceglia lost her battle with liver cancer. My mother and stepfather were both self-employed and lived within modest means, so when my mother became ill, getting her the treatment and care that she needed became a full-time job for both of them. Throughout her end-of-life experience, my mother endured with grace and dignity... she was as tough as they come .
After 6 months of regular doctors appointments, chemotherapy, and dwindling financial resources, a friend of my mother referred her to Take the Lead. Take the Lead provides direct services, support and care for people in the sport of purebred dogs who suffer the devastation of life-threatening or terminal illnesses. My mother left behind a 45-year career, passion ,and legacy for purebred Giant Schnauzers.
Take the Lead provided financial support to us during the most difficult time we've ever faced as a family and we want to give back. With just a modest contribution, we can enable others to do what is most important when enduring a life-threatening or terminal illness, focus on your loved ones, not on money problems. Thank you for your support!
