Rosie Layfield's Fundraiser:

Charity Album UK

So, it's the 26th December, Boxing Day. Christmas is over and I'm sitting in a pile of wonderful presents, crumpled wrapping paper and empty sweet wrappers that have been cast aside. Suddenly I'm overwhelmed with gratitude. I've had my whole family around me for the last two days and I've been showered with gifts and I begin to think of those who are not so lucky; those who don't have a home, a loving family or even those who just don't have the money to spend on those Christmas socks that are worn once and tossed aside. I'm instantly inspired by the crap some people choose to buy and give as Christmas gifts and think that shifting something and giving the profits to charity has got to be a walk in the park. (I stand corrected).
I glance around the room and realise that most of what I loved about Christmas was centred on music. The much anticipated Christmas number one, the Beyonce Calendar I received in my stocking and, of course, Christmas Top of the Pops.
And that is when it happened, it all fell into place. I was to combine my two passions; giving something back and the gift of music. And so I set out to create an album of young, local artists from schools in my area, giving them the chance to get their music out there, and donating all proceeds to a local charity.
It is safe to say it has not been anywhere near as easy as I anticipated. There have been many hurdles and I've barely got started! But what would really help me out would be for you to donate your money to the project. Any small sum will help a tremendous amount and help me, and many budding young artists achieve our goal. So hit donate and join what I am sure will be an inspiring and challenging journey! Thank you!
