BENEFITING: Generation Ubuntu
We are teaming up for the 2016 Westchester Triathlon in support of Generation Ubuntu on Sunday, September 25th and need your help! Generation Ubuntu (GenU) is an NGO based in Khayelitsha, the poorest township of South Africa. GenU provides holistic care for approximately 200 neglected children living with HIV. This care includes nutritious meals, social services, emotional and educational support, as well as necessary medical attention. Please support Generation Ubuntu and help us meet our $1,500 fundraising goal by October 25th! Why GenU? HIV is the leading cause of death in children under the age of 5 and 100% of the children in GenU's program have not only survived, but thrived, in a country where 680 people die of AIDS-related illnesses each day. Many children living with HIV have been orphaned, live in poverty, and are victims of abuse and bullying. The Generation Ubuntu program is becoming the GLOBAL model for every child living with HIV.
