The American Cancer Society’s estimates that 60,220 people will be diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2013 and of this, 1,850 will die. Most of these will be between the ages of 65 and 74. My amazing, beautiful, strong, loving grandmother, Joan Burgess, was 70 years old when she passed from anaplastic thyroid cancer - 6 months after being diagnosed. This NEEDS to change. This NEEDS to get better. Donating towards Check Up From The Neck Up will help. ALL proceeds will go towards the THANC Foundation - who are "committed to supporting research and education in the early detection and treatment of thyroid and head and neck cancer, to advancing new therapies, and to alleviating the suffering and functional impairment of patients who undergo treatment." Any amount will help towards this. so will coming to the 2nd annual benefit ---
