Only ONE WEEK Away!
September 22, 2017
BENEFITING: CHEFF THERAPEUTIC RIDING CENTER
EVENT DATE: Jun 27, 2017
This year's Ride-A-Thon will be taking place on Saturday, September 30th. You can set up your own fundraising profile here, donate to a specific rider, or join the general Cheff fundraising team! This year, we're giving away special prizes for those who fundraise online and giving away a WESTERN SHOW SADDLE PACKAGE to the top fundraiser overall!
WHAT: This is so much more than a trail ride... It's also about making life changing therapy opportunities available to those in our community who need them most. Participants get a lot for their minimum pledge donation, but we urge everyone to remember that their dollars are going WAY further than buying a one day trail ride.
This annual fundraiser is responsible for raising money to support our equine herd at Cheff. You're invited to join us for a morning of trail riding, silent auctions, door prizes, top fundraiser prizes, and of course an amazing hot lunch. There will be two trail options, a 3 mile "short loop" and a "long loop" that will probably end up right around 10 miles (long loop varies from year to year depending on what trails we're allowed to use in Kellogg Forest.) The entire ride is on trails, though there are road crossings. Major road crossings will be police/volunteer assisted. Registered riders are able to go through the trails as many times as they would like, but we will not be allowing riders out after 12pm.
WHY: Our herd at Cheff fluctuates between 15 and 20 horses. The cost of keeping these horses happy and healthy is nothing to laugh at. With this fundraiser, we reach out to those who really understand what we do and the challenges we face- people who understand the magic of horses and also the cost (YOU!). Funds raised at this event specifically support our herd by financing things such as vet visits, farrier care, feed, supplements, equipment that fits, fly spray... you get the idea.** ** Just a PSA- Cheff relies HEAVILY on donations- if you have any gently used horse equipment- saddles, pads, blankets, sheets, (even half bottles of fly spray...) we'd love to take them off your hands!
