Torrential rain in Chennai, India has resulted in terrible flooding. Thousands of families have had to evacuate their homes and more than 300 people have died. Tens and thousands of people have been stranded, with no access to food, electricity and other basic amenities. There is an immediate need for many of these basic amenities, including dry clothes and drinking water.
We asking you to donate money and this money goes to these volunteers (most of them our friends and family on ground helping others, not an unknown organization or political party) who will be purchasing the above necessities and distribute the same. Any amount of money you are able to give will be greatly appreciated, even a dollar helps.
“Git for Good” is a technology workshop to raise funds for Chennai/India flood victims. It is 1.5 hours a day, for 5 days, live online sessions. The workshop teaches Git & GitHub, popular distributed revision control system and one of the cutting edge DevOps tools. You are invited to attend this workshop for free by donating ANY amount to Chennai flood relief. Please mention your interest in the comments section. Learn more about Gitforgood.org.
