Cheryl's Fight to find a Voice and a Chance!
Organized by: Cheryl Pence
My name is Cheryl and I am a 49 year old stage 2 invasive squamous cell carcinoma cancer survivor. And until recently an abused woman. I am asking you for your help in giving me a chance to make the most of my second life. After three years of battling cancer and losing my voice, I finally felt ready to make the most of the amazing chance I had been given. Unfortunately the man I loved didn't feel the same. In the past year he has made what should have been my blossoming a living nightmare. I found the strength to come back from dying on the operating table and so I found the strength to get him out of my life. It has left me a shell of myself. I'm only 109 pounds and at 5'9" I look like a skeleton. The emotional, physical and spiritual pain this has left me would be bearable but I now find myself drowning. Drowning in debt and medical expenses. I live in a 3rd generation house where my grandmother raised my mother and I was raised there as well. I can't afford the mortgage as of this month. I only get a small amount for disability and without a Voice it's difficult to find work. I love animals and have six wonderful cats but they are all getting along in age. Norma Jean and Nana Cabana have serious illnesses and it breaks my heart to not be able to give them the care they need. I only want a chance to find my new life, a chance to catch my breath, to look around and appreciate and enjoy the great gift of time that I have been given. Thank you Dr. Klotch for dragging me kicking and cursing to my new life, I'll always love you for it you amazing pain in my a**. Thank you for listening to my voice and giving me a chance to make the most of the time that I have been given.
