BENEFITING: Designer Dog Rescue
Anyone who knows me, knows that I thought the law was my life. I was a paralegal (a damn good one!) and I thought I'd continue my education in the legal field. Go to law school, work for the ACLU, etc.
Well, as they say: “We plan, God laughs.”
Life, as it tends to do, stepped in. I realized that saving dogs was my passion. For the past several years I've volunteered with, fostered for, and adopted from some amazing rescue organizations.
For my 40th birthday, I'd love to raise money for the amazing folks at Designer Dog Rescue. DDR's mission is to rescue unwanted dogs from the Los Angeles shelters and provide education for the misunderstood “mutt”, To bring awareness to the growing problem of backyard breeders producing “designer dog” breeds without a thought to the health of the animal or the same types of mixed breeds sitting in the shelter system. They are foster-based rescue operated solely by volunteers, and as a Best Friends Animal Society (BFAS) NKLA Coalition Partner, they follow the no-kill policy. Plus, they're just basically awesome! :)
