Our daughter Kayla is an amazing 15 years old little lady and she is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. She is an excellent scholar and Chess player, very dedicated and committed and a very hard worker.
Kayla started playing chess at the age of 8 and loved it so much that she went from strength to strength. She has an amazing natural talent as a Chess player, and although we, her parents, could never afford a coach for her (as the other kid’s parents did), at the age of 10 in 2009 she received her Provincial colours in Chess and at the age of 15 in March 2014, she came third in the SA Closed Chess Championship and received her South African colours. In September 2014 for the first time, Kayla represented her country, South Africa, at the World Youth Chess Championships (WYCC) in Durban, South Africa. Following the WYCC she was once again selected to represent her country, but this time at the World Youth Chess Olympiad (WYCO) that will be held in Hungary in December 2014. This came as such an honour to her and she is so excited about the fact that all her hard work and dedication paid off in such a huge way.
Unfortunately the financial impact of getting Kayla to Hungary in December this year is enormous. That's why we will hugely appreciate any contributions that could help her in this regard. Contributions will go towards her return plane ticket to Hungary, boarding and meals during her 10 day participation at the Chess Olympiad,
We appreciate everyone for just reading our campaign and getting to know Kayla a little better, she really is an amazing young girl.
We are going to ask one more favour and that is if you can spread the word about our campaign on any social media. Anything helps and if you help us get the word out we will be so grateful.
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!
