Chete Eze-Nliam via Crowdrise
November 04, 2013
EVENT DATE: Nov 03, 2013
Hi Friends and Family,
It is that time of the year again! Chete and Chi-Chi are at it once again! For the third year in a row, they are going to pound 26.2 miles of pavements, paths, nooks and crannies and what have you, this time in New York City (NYC)- the Big Apple!!!, for the sake of charity and of course, ultimate well-being.
As most of you know, our proposed 2012 NYC marathon was cancelled in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy. As tenacious as most long-distance runners, we amicably drove down South to the beautiful city of Richmond, Virginia and had a thrill completing the 'America's Friendliest Marathon' along with our good friend and accomplished runner, Chi-Chi. Most importantly, your support for us in 2012 did not go in vain:-)
Fast forward to 2013 - We are running the famed NYC marathon on Sunday, November 3. Hurray!!!!! We are very excited to be part of this epic race. We are even more excited to use this opportunity to help those who are less fortunate than us.
Thank you sooooo much for your support over the years - We raised more than $1000 for Doctors without Borders during the 2011 Baltimore Marathon and about $925 for Catholic Relief Services International during the 2012 Richmond Marathon.
Our charity for the 2013 NYC Marathon is Zara's Center - an NGO, supported by the Jonathan Plutzik and Lesley Goldwasser Family Foundation, which provides for children orphaned by the scourge of AIDS in Zimbabwe. Please click on the link on this site for more information.
Once again, thanks so much for your phenomenal support. Please help us reach or even better, supersede our fundraising target and/or support us with your good wishes - remember 'action speaks louder than words' :-)
Love y'all and have a blessed day!
