Chiari Malformation is a condition where the brain is too large for the skull and ends up pushing down on the spinal cord. Two things happen. First, the flow of spinal fluid in and out of the brain is impeded. Second, the pressure on the spinal cord creates strange but largely unknown effects on the nervous system (balance, etcetera). There's surgery to relieve some of the pressure, but this is not a cure. There is no cure.. yet.
