Last chance to invite your friends to Saturday's Hike for Healing!
October 27, 2016
Individuals from across the country are hiking to raise funds and awareness for the Monument Quilt, for our work of creating public healing spaces for survivors. From now through the end of October we will honor healing as a lifelong journey through Hike for Healing.
Hike with us on October 29th, 2016 from The Shedd Aquarium to Hyde Park's Prominotory Point. This 5.7 mile hike will depart at 9am from the "Man with Fish" fountain on the southwest side of the Aquarium and hike along the lakeshore past the Burnham Wildlife Sanctuary. The hike is approximately 2.5 hours.

Friends and family of those suffering from other health crises such as cancer or heart disease often participate in runs and walks to raise funds and to show their support. Hike for Healing provides an opportunity for communities to do just that for survivors of sexual and domestic violence. Individuals or teams will register on the Hike for Healing crowdrise page, where friends, coworkers, and family members can read about their involvement and pledge donations for their participation. Our goal is to raise $50,000 for The Monument Quilt.
You can choose how you want to participate! Hike for Healing can happen anywhere, with any amount of participants, for any distance. If hiking isn’t your thing, find another activity to represent your healing journey or that of the person you’re honoring. Just register as an individual or team at www.crowdrise.com/hikeforhealing. Team members can raise their own funds through an entry fee, or ask others to donate in support.
If you don’t feel like participating yourself, but still want to help us reach our fundraising goal, check out the amazing fundraisers registered at www.crowdrise.com/hikeforhealing and pledge donations for their participation.
By participating in or donating to Hike for Healing, you help fund the Monument Quilt’s workshops and displays that create public healing spaces for survivors. Thanks for joining with us in this important work!
